Whirly Jig

Whirly Jig Grows!   Hello, Jiggers!   Well, we have some good news and some bad news.   The good news: Annie has agreed to stay on as a part-time Whirly Jig member.   More good news: Susan Atchley (vocals, penney whistle, and bodhran) and Amy Lassen (vocals, fiddle) have joined the band.   The bad news: Three people who specifically asked to audition for Whirly Jig never got a chance to do so.   Our sincere apologies go out to these fine performers. They deserve to have gotten their time in the hot seat, but circumstances dictated our actions and we have offered to both Susan and Amy, and apparently we did not frighten them enough to make them run away screaming.   So Whirly Jig is now a 5-piece band (6 when Annie can join us).   And I will have to tell you now, my fine Jiggers, that I have been waiting years for a particular kind of sound to come out of Whirly Jig -- and last night I heard it for the first time.   I believe some very nice things are coming from Whirly Jig in the coming year.   Stay tuned.
